Ways to ensure our Cities and Communities are Sustainable

Join us in March to learn more about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Learn insights into the roles of individuals, education, training institutions, stakeholders and regulating governments may play in achieving the specified targets by 2030.


Speakers

María Fernanda Aguirre; Executive Director of the Chile Green Building Council & Chair of the Americas Network of the World Green Building Council

María Fernanda Aguirre is a Chilean Architect with multiple professional accreditations in certification systems such as LEED, EDGE, Fitwel, Minergie, and TRUE Zero Waste. Additionally, she has postgraduate specializations in Organizational Sustainability, Project Management, Circular Economy and Climate Change, and has also been USGBC Faculty and B Multiplier for the B Certification System for sustainability companies.

María Fernanda is also a member of the Sustainability Committee of the College of Architects of Chile, of the International Living Future Institute and of the Task Force for the Construction Sector of the Life Cycle Initiative of UNEP. She currently works as Executive Director of the Chile Green Building Council, Chair of the Americas Network of the World Green Building Council and is a Master’s Professor at the Metropolitan Technological University of Chile.

Igwebuike Ijeoma; Board Member at Climate Strategies

Igwebuike Ijeoma is the Nigerian Country Representative for the Bonn, Germany-based World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE) – a global renewable energy advocacy organization. Igwebuike is also a Board Member of Climate Strategies UK – a London-based global climate change governance think tank. Reputed as Africa’s foremost Enviropreneur, Igwebuike is the Enviropreneur/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Schrodinger Greentech – an Abuja-based climate change, sustainable energy, and green economy-focused consultancy. A strategic climate change communicator, Igwebuike has continued to share his climate change mitigation as well as sustainable development policy and practice knowledge and experience with the public via his published articles and opinion pieces on mass print and electronic media via appearances on national television for interviews on climate change-thematic issues.


Panel presentations will be followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers!
