Obie Agusiegbe, BSc., MSc., EP | Principal Consultant / CEO / Founder

Obie has over 20 years’ experience spanning different sectors including oil and gas, manufacturing, government, non- profit, pharmaceutical and consulting in Canada and overseas. She is a Certified Environmental Professional under ECO Canada with an Environmental Manager designation. Her competences include Environmental Assessment, Waste Management, Energy Management, Environmental Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, Sustainability Reporting, Training and Workshop Facilitation, Health and Safety, Community Outreach and Development, Project and Program Development and Implementation, Research and Business Analysis

In addition to holding a Master’s degree in Clean Technology from the University of Newcastle, United Kingdom, she has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Post Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Adult Education/Training and Development from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada. She is part of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Community and has a GRI Standard Exam Certificate of Achievement.

A Sustainability Advocate: She successfully runs a Sustainability Magazine – EnvironBuzz Mag (www.environbuzz.com) and has organized and implemented numerous events, programs and projects nationally and internationally with the goal to transfer knowledge of environmental and social issues and their possible solutions between the North and South.

An avid volunteer: She has been on the board of various non-profits organizations including Rotary Club of Mississauga- Airport (Executive Secretary) and Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (Treasurer). She is on the board of Sustainable Waste Recycling Community of Nigeria (President) and a mentor under the Sustainability Mentorship Program implemented by the Sustainable Engineers Association, University of Toronto. She was an Advisor with Startup Canada, Toronto Ontario. She is a member of the Ontario Environmental Industry Association in Canada and a Member of the Canadian Africa Chamber of Commerce.

Sarah Lawless, B.A. Hons | Sustainability Programs Assistant

Sarah graduated from Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University) in 2022. She holds an Honours Bachelors degree in Environment and Urban Sustainability with a minor in Geographic Analysis. With a professional background in urban sustainability, Sarah is passionate about education, food security, and green development and aspires to use and share her knowledge to help cities become more accessible and sustainable.

Alicia Advincula, BBRM Honors | Sustainability Programs Assistant

Alicia graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management degree in Environmental Management in 2020. Through the years of 2020-2022 she completed a Certificate in Business and a Certificate in Environmental Conservation also at the University of Guelph, to broaden her understanding and skills in these areas. Alicia’s passions lie in Environmental Education, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG). In her free time she enjoys working on her knowledge and skills in these areas, completing multiple ISO and other CSR and ESG online courses

At EnvironFocus Alicia is the Sustainability Programs Assistant, assisting with the monthly webinars, article writing and the Safe Drinking Water Project.
