Sustainable Product Development in Africa (SPDA)

Welcome to our first community project under the sustainable project development Africa initiative. This project will be taking place in Edinaman Village Community in Ghana, West Africa. The Edinaman community would like to start a sustainable food production system using Aquaponics technology. Aquaponics combines conventional aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as snails, fish, crayfish or prawn s in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment. This will supplement the traditional agricultural methods being used in the community and provide more stability in food supply with zero environmental impact.

We have started a crowd-funding campaign on indiegogo to help with carrying out a comprehensive feasibility study to determine kind of crops to grow, transportation, market etc. Please contribute to our campaign. In exchange, you will receive original pieces of art and various items from the community.
